Wood Decks

Some people just love the look and feel of wood. Many people choose wood over composite for cost. While the labor difference of a wood deck isn’t a big factor the materials can be signifantly less. Advocates for composite would say the amount of time and resources to maintain your wood deck more than offsets the initial price difference. Wood decking is most often pressure treated (2×6, 5/4×6 Standard, 5/4×6 Premium). My preference is 5/4×6 Premium. The wood has fewer knots for a minimal price difference.
